Course Overview
Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115) course reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Delivery
Delivery structure is comprised of classroom training sessions, structured learning such as training support, learning activities, self-paced (to allow the learners to absorb and reflect on their learning), workshops and work placement.
Entry Requirements
- Age: must be 17 years or over
- Undertake LLN test: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy (ACSF Level 3) are desirable to participate in the course
- Police Check – Students undertaking this course are required to provide a current Police Check with no disclosures
- This course is not offered to International students
Work Placement
To achieve Certificate IV in Disability qualification the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units of competency. If a student is unable to find an appropriate work placement, Hammond Institute will assist in finding the work placements.
