Course Overview
The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support has been created to provide you with training whether you are currently working, or hoping to find work in residential facilities in aged care.
Aged care workers provide care either in a client’s home, or in a residential care setting. They carry out their duties under direct or regular guidance within clearly defined care plans or organisational strategies.
You will be supported in your learning by expert trainers, and a structured workplace learningcomponent will give you the practical, hands-on experience that you need to become fully job-ready.
If you have already completed the required units from the Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent) then this course would act as an extension of your knowledge. Equally, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning if you have some work experience in a related field.
You will learn how to effectively liaise with other healthcare professionals and take your career to the next level by supervising fellow workers. Other skills covered in this course include how to respond holistically to client issues, providing services to older people with complex needs and assisting with medication.
If you are committed to the rights of elderly people, are physically fit and have patience, discretion and a high level of professionalism, then this industry needs you to take the next step in your career by gaining this nationally accredited qualification. This course can be undertaken online at your own pace, beginning at any time of the year.
This course is offered by Open Colleges on behalf of Integrated Care and Management Training.
