Course Overview
Population growth is driving increasing demand for childcare in Australia. Forecasts estimate there will be 2.2 million children aged under 5 years in Australia by 2031, and 2.6 million by 2051.
Over recent years, growth in the childcare workforce has been strong, increasing from 80,500 in 2011 to 96,300 in 2016. The Australian National Skills Commission predicts that this trend will continue, identifying childcare in the June 2021 Skills Priority List as an industry with a current worker shortage, and strong future demand.
Kirana Colleges is excited to be one of the first training providers offering students the NEW and improved Early Childhood Education and Care qualifications. The diploma-level education and care qualification is often required for positions such as room or team leaders in centre-based services and may be necessary to be appointed to educational leadership positions or the nominated supervisor. Overall, these qualifications will teach you to plan, implement and manage programs in early childhood services.
