First Action Group – Melbourne VIC Job Type: Full time Salary range: $58,000 – 65,000 We are seeking a qualified and experienced accountant to work for our group. You are expected to provide accounting service to companies within the group. Your duties include but not limited to: · Participating in quarterly and yearly reporting processes, ensuring deadlines are met · Collaboratively preparing month-end accounts and reports for presenting to the management · Examining costs, incomes, and operational expenditures against budget to determine the company’s financial health, and reporting variances to Group Accountant · Compiling and analysing account information and preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries · Ensuring information accuracy and resolving internal and external account discrepancies where required · Analysing and interpreting financial results and providing financial advice on business plans, operations, and tax matters · Predicting revenue and expenditure trends, recommending appropriate budget levels, and implementing expenditure controls · Maintaining financial databases, accounting systems, and internal control systems · Assisting with the implementation of financial, operational, and management control procedures to mitigate financial risks · Assisting with credit control and other ad hoc projects and investigations as required · Ensuring compliance with financial taxation and legal requirements Required Qualification and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree or above with a major in accounting · At least 3 years’ experience as an accountant · Previous experience with busybusy or other payroll timekeeping software packages · In depth experience of MYOB or Xero accounting packages, all modules including asset registers and depreciation schedules · At least three years’ experience as an Accountant within the area of plumbing/electrical/airconditioning industries and with specific knowledge of the relevant pay awards’ Desired Attributes: · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook · Knowledge of Australian pay awards and their implementation in practice · Familiarity with job and project costing, margin analysis and variance analyses, especially within a domestic customer service environment · Interpersonal skills · Attention to details · Time management skills · Problem solving · Team player If you think you are an ideal candidate, please apply now.
