Eastern & Allied is also an expert in foreign currency exchange services in all major currencies offering compelling services and competitive exchange rates.   Eastern & Allied is proud be an Australian-owned and operated company with a widely established network of branches and agents across Australia, including 16 branches and 11 agents in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, and NT.   This full time Management Accountant & Western Australia State Manager position will be based in Girrawheen, Western Australia.  

The main duties of this role:

●        Examine business operating costs, income, and expenditure to provide support in measuring business’s profitability

●        Maintain internal control systems, administer, and manage operations for branches within the state, and be accountable for the operations and performance of the state/s

●        Investigate and report on matters which may arise as well as forecast opportunities

●        Conduct competitive and agent reviews of business in the local environment

●        Seek business opportunities in new locations and new agents

●        Initiate and implement marketing and business development activities

●        Provide ongoing feedback to the director to improve and optimise performance and customer services

●        Represent the company in local community and engage with local government or law enforcement agencies as required

●        Seek short-term and long-term solutions to challenges encountered including prioritisation and setting a timeline to quickly reach goals

●        Manage existing and new staffs including onboarding, performance feedback and reviews, leave, and rostering

●        Coordinate and manage currency inventory, stocktake, and cash in transit service providers

●        Regulatory adherence and compliance: ensure business operation in compliance with Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism-Financing (AML/CTF) Act, AUSTRAC

●        Manage and control branch account payable and receivable

●        Manage and develop cashflow or (flow of funds) in branch/es and cash from agent partners

●        Be responsible for the revenue elements of the budget and forecast, as well as working directly with senior leadership to help improve business performance

●        Complete all daily reconciliations to enable accurate daily reporting to director

●        Prepare daily or monthly financial reports for company requirements

●        Manage monthly sales and oversee financial efficiency to reduce costs  

 

Salary: Below is the annual base salary to be paid, plus superannuation contributions made at the level prescribed by the Superannuation Guarantee laws, or any laws that replace them. Annual base salary is $69,000 AUD + 10% superannuation.  

 

Qualifications, education, experience, and abilities required:

·         A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or Finance

·         Having strong knowledge of AUSTRAC and Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorism-Financing (AML/CTF) compliance regulations

·         Be highly proficient in XERO/MYOB/QUICKBOOKS

·         Have at least 3 years’ experience in an Accounting or a similar role

·         Excellent attention to detail

·         Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills

·         Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

·         Ability to handle multi-tasks simultaneously, an eye on details, and problem solving

·         Key team player and ability to establish strong relationships

·         Have a sound understanding of company clients’ bases

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese as preferred due to our client base and for team communications

·         Strong work ethic and desire to grow and develop your career

·         Experience in a similar industry/environment is highly regarded
