POSITION : ACCOUNTANT
FTA Accountants are needing an Accountant in our rural based Roma Practice. Roma is the main service centre for the Maranoa Region in the Southwest of Outback Queensland and is 515km from Brisbane. We provide accounting, taxation, auditing and business advisory services to individuals, small businesses, community services and our many primary producers in the region.
Key responsibilities
Assist in preparing business advice and/or producing complex special purpose reports and annual financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts and corporations.
Assist with the management of a portfolio of clients across a broad range of industries, ensuring jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines within budget.
Assist with general bookkeeping duties, liaise with the ATO.
Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained appropriately.
Maintain up to date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements.
What you will need to succeed in this role
A minimum of two + years of experience in a similar role. A Bachelor of Business or Commerce.
Demonstrated experience in preparing Individual, Company and Trust tax returns.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting and taxation.
Extensive experience in XPM and Xero.
The ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team environment.
A motivated and energetic approach with the desire to drive continuous improvements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy – Ability to identify errors.
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $60 000.00 - $70 000.00 per annum

Accountants 2 years (Preferred)
Work Authorisation: Australian Permanent Resident / Citizen (Preferred)
