Assistant Category Manager - North Ryde

The opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Category Manager to join our dedicated procurement team in North Ryde. Reporting to the General Manager Procurement, you will be a facilitator of knowledge and a champion of CSR corporate procurement governance within Indirects Categories delivering value and reducing supply risks through proactive management of cost and supplier relationships.
You will perform a varied array of duties including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance and risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Managing six step sourcing process including demand analysis, supply analysis, sourcing strategy development, execution of sourcing process, contract execution, contract life cycle management and supplier relationship management
- Strategic category management across Indirects Categories including but not limited to MRO, Labour Hire, Professional Services, IT, Travel, Maintenance Contractors, Electrical Supplies, Facilities Management, Equipment Hire and Packaging
- Developing and executing category strategies for company-wide indirect spend to increase value delivered to CSR, primarily through reduced year on year costs or alternatively increased overall value (efficiency or function)
- Negotiate and Manage supplier agreements and expiry, drive agreement extensions
- Perform procurement reporting and analysis of management information to identify potential improvement opportunities
- Review suppliers spend and identify large spend suppliers not under a CSR agreement and work to increase contract coverage
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Qualifications
You are a professional with prior experience in managing end to end sourcing processes with multiple suppliers. You are results-driven, able to work and communicate well with internal and external stakeholders at different levels.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Understanding of design and implementing commercial instruments
- Experience in managing supply and commercial risks
- Good communication and time management skills
