Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepares, seasons and cooks food for clients. Helps devise new methods of cooking and new menu items.
Tasks Include:
- Cooks/prepares hot dishes
- Cleans food preparation and serving areas as determined by law and company policy
- Prepares food to the specifications of the client
- Cooks and seasons food according to recipes
- Tests foods before servicing to determine if they are sufficiently cooked
- Makes adjustments to food items to accommodate clients with allergies or specific diet concerns
- Creates and prepares recipes and meals
- Consults with supervisor regarding menu plans and estimates food requirements
- Place orders for food supplies, ingredients and spices as needed
- Stores food in temperature controlled facilities
- Ensures that the equipment are always in the right condition; report to the supervisor when any fault occurs
- Keeps work areas clean and monitor oven temperature
- May train other kitchen staff
