About the role
Utilise industry knowledge to source and negotiate the best deals with national and local suppliers, ensuring an unbeatable value proposition and promotional schedule to service our Retailers. Drive innovation and differentiation in products and range, and own and manage supplier relationships.
What you'll do
- Deliver on wholesale sales and income budget and drive improvements in COGs
- Develop and deliver category range, pricing and promotional plans that are aligned to the strategic priorities of each channel
- Be the subject matter expert for the business for category growth strategies, utilising internal and external insights
- Own and manage all supplier relationships including the supplier profitability to our network (wholesale and retail)
- Negotiate the best commercial out-come for Customers, Retailers and Metcash
- Develop and deliver the category’s private label strategy
- Manage a high performing team of our future Buyers
