Job Description

  • The Category Manager for IT/Marketing is required to work across all brands and relevant functions and be responsible for all aspects of category spend including:
    • Actively supporting strategic sourcing and SRM activity in the key areas of spend including POS Print, Brand & Packaging design, creative agencies etc
    • Central role as a valued commercial partner supporting the execution of key marketing initiatives across multiple ATL & BTL channels (including digital) but excluding Martech
    • Supporting the SCM with establishing the category vision;
    • Supporting setting and communicating the strategic direction; and
    • Managing resources effectively to support, develop and execute category plans that produce the desired business results.
  • The Category Manager works to support the development and execution of category best practices to support ongoing transformation for Marketing category, including:
    • Support of sourcing strategy definition;
    • Development of SRM (4 Box) plan
    • Deployment; and
    • Stakeholder alignment.
  • Achieving or exceeding annual efficiency and value targets achieved through commercial dealings with suppliers and internal customers.

The Successful Applicant

  • Strong end to end category management knowledge and highly developed commercial experience, possibly gained in other large commercial/FMCG/Retail enterprise.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement or in commercial management within the marketing industry.
  • Solid technical understanding across marketing categories and channels including creative, packaging design, Print, Production and the mechanics of the relevant commercial models and methodologies that apply within the area in relation to third party spend, SLA's, TCO and ROI validation.
  • Deep value chain management knowledge including the ability to look for value beyond savings via efficiency and quality benefits available through technology.
  • Research and networking skills to ensure is at the forefront of industry leading practices, tools and strategic trends.
