This government organisation is looking for a Business Application & Data Base Support Officer to join their team in the Hobart region.
Your new role
This role will see you providing specialist support to users on various platforms, ERP and systems in used in this governmental organisation as well as assisting with the provision of generalist helpdesk support. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to;
- Platform, identifying and resolving application issues and escalating to external support where required.
- Elicit requirements, identify where enhancements and/or configuration changes can be made to better support desired business and customer outcomes.
- Prepare maintenance plans and upgrade schedules for the organisation’s core business systems
- Perform database maintenance and housekeeping to ensure optimum performance is achieved and security threats are mitigated
- Liaise and maintain relationships with external vendors
- Assist the ICT team to provide an efficient and effective help desk service
What you'll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in an Information Systems or related discipline together with relevant industry experience and/or or an equivalent combination of substantial industry experience, and relevant education and/or training.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of integrated ERP to support business outcomes, improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Demonstrated understanding and use of RDBMS, SQL query and contemporary reporting tools for data analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
