Technical 1 – RDO Remuneration Package - $61,286 - $72,837 (including salary $52,728 - $62,697)
Technical 2 - RDO Remuneration Package - $70,600 - $80,038 (including salary $63,408 - $71,885)
Parks and Wildlife Division, Parks and Wildlife Operations Branch 
Several vacancies are available in various locations throughout the Northern Territory. 
Selection will be made at the T1 or T2 level depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) was established with a clear vision that the Northern Territory’s natural assets are managed sustainably for the benefit of all. Its purpose is to provide evidence-based advice and regulation to support sustainable use of the Northern Territory’s natural resources, and protect and present its wildlife, parks and reserves. Currently, Park Rangers are responsible for the management of 85 national parks and nature reserves across the Northern Territory. 

As a T1 Park Ranger you assist with land management and nature conservation, and the delivery of a range of services relating to tourism, visitor management, education and wildlife management. Your duties are varied and include interacting with Aboriginal Joint Management partners, tourism operators, land holders and the general public. Demonstrate knowledge and an understanding of basic resource management techniques and the role of a Park Ranger is essential.

As a more experienced T2 Park Ranger you provide advice and services regarding land management, nature conservation and visitor management. You will assist with implementing a range of park management programs, undertake search and rescue and apply first aid in accordance with the Emergency Response manual. In addition you will provide guidance and mentoring to less experience staff, volunteers and trainees. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary natural resource management techniques and a relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent experience is essential.

To be selected as a Park Ranger you require a current “C” class driver’s licence, with manual endorsement and First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain, knowledge of vehicle, vessel and plant operation and maintenance and the ability to work outdoors in physically challenging environments is essential.
