Full job description

 An exciting opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to manage the day-to-day operations of our Restaurant in the Idyllic Seaside town of Cervantes, approximately two hours north of Perth.

Cervantes Motel is looking for a full-time Head Chef with minimum 2 years of experience. The base  annual salary is $56,000.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will have a high level of autonomy in this role coupled with the support and freedom to express and showcase your talents already garnered from your previous experience in Hospitality.

As well as our in-house and local business, we also cater to a wide range of coaches, tour groups, corporate functions and weddings.We are looking for a Head Chef who can take our food operation to the next level and help us not just to continue to grow our business in our recently renovated Bar & Restaurant.This position will suit someone wanting to serve quality food, consistently in a small seaside, country atmosphere and be part of an enthusiastic hardworking fun team.

The suitable candidate will have the opportunity to live on site as part of their salary package plus the added flexibility of employment for a partner if you are a couple looking to make a sea change to Cervantes.Who are we looking for?·      

  • You are a naturally confident person who is able to approach people and initiate conversation along with a strong knowledge of the product you are serving.·      
  • An ability to surprise our guests with outstanding food.·      
  • You are able to work under pressure and can juggle numerous tasks at once, but are still able to proceed and maintain a high level of awareness of health and safety.In addition, you will also have the following:·       Experience in a similar roll and venue for a minimum of 2  years.·      
  • Exceptional time management skills·      
  • Be organised and deliver meals in a timely and consistent fashion.·      
  • Be very hands-on and assist kitchen and wait staff.·      
  • Follow all health and safety requirements.·      
  • Be able to write and cost menus, control and rotate stock.·      
  • Be able to roster within accordance to the business’ needs and season.·      
  • Have an eye for detail and be passionate with the end product.·      
  • Work well in a very small team.·      
  • To be able to work under pressure.·      
  • Approved Managers Certificate would be a bonus.·      
  • Minimum of two recent work References
