About the role:

This is a rare opportunity to gain a senior position within Stratco's retail operations. The position is critical in the growth and development of our retail business and forms an integral part of our growing national and international company.

As a Retail Category Manager you will be report to the Senior Category Manager and be fully accountable for the success and growth of your product categories taking full responsibility for sales, gross margin and inventory across your portfolio. You will also be expected to lead by example and support the store teams in their efforts to grow sales and improve their skills.

The role will involve:

  • Regular range reviews to ensure that the product offer is always up to date and relevant.
  • Supporting of national promotional programmes
  • Working with the National Store Development Manager in the implementation of strategies and standards across the store network
  • Developing working relationships with national and local suppliers
  • Adherence to Stratco's safety and other policies

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:  

  • Excellent personal presentation
  • A passion to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Dynamic communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • An eye for detail whilst working in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to coach and develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, multiple stores and other internal stakeholders
  • Experience within a multi site retail environment
  • Demonstrable merchandising skills of the highest standard 
  • Previous experience as a Category Manager/Buyer or a similar professional retail role is essential
